- Loofahs are an amazing, intricatly weaved gift from nature that we can use to exfoliate our bodies, scrub our feet, make beautiful art from, use for cleaning all sorts of items around our homes. Click for more info
- The short answer is no but you will need to like gardening as these plants need a bit of care and attention but we will guide you through.
- If you can grow watermelon in your area, you should be able to grow loofah. This course focuses on growing in a cooler climate and how to get the most heat happening. If you are in a hotter area, you will still find some value in the course as we explain what you would need to do instead.
- No, we grow our loofah outside. Growing in a glasshouse/greenhouse solves one problem but creates others so we choose to grow outside and have created a method for doing so.
- Loofah plants don't like a constant wind. You may still be able to grow but your yield won't be as good.
- It all depends what you currently have on hand. You can grow them with little money but they are heavy feeders so you will need to give them fertilizer - that could be organic that you've made or synthetic that you purchase. We go over this in the course.
- It depends what you have. If you already have a long chain link fence to grow on, great. Or maybe if money is tight you can opt to grow on the ground where you don't need to build a structure.
- It depends what you want to do with them and how much space each plant will have. Each plant with good space will produce at least 10-20 loofah.
- Well...they make perfect gifts for friends and family. You can use them on your body, use in soap, as a dish scrubber or for scrubbing the bathroom. If you have pets, they love chewing on them. You can make beautiful art.
- Loofah is the generic term for an exfoliating sponge and Luffa is the botanical name of the plant...
